Description The role is for a survey crew chief responsible for land survey work across various types of jobs including distribution electric, gas, electric transmission jobs, and substations.The individual will be using survey equipment provided by us and will be working on topographic surveys, construction surveys, and other land survey tasks.The typical day involves receiving assignments from the office survey group, commuting to project sites, and executing survey tasks independently. The work is mostly field-based with minimal time spent in the office.The position will be supporting a large organization with hundreds of people working on various projects.The individual will be working on a subset of these projects and interacting with different teams depending on the project.The role involves a lot of independent work in the field. The team culture is supportive and collaborative, with the individual working as an individual contributor but interacting with various teams and projects. Qualifications Experienced land surveyor with proficiency in survey GPS, laser scanners, and tremble equipment.Ability to work with technology, general computers, and data collectors.Ability to travel and spend time on the road.Independent work capability, problem-solving skills, and ability to work longer days and travel.Ideally, 10 years of experience, but candidates with 4-5 years of quality experience may be considered.A two-year surveying tech or civil engineering technician background is preferred but not mandatory if the candidate has relevant experience.
