Job Type Full-timeDescriptionPosition Description Metro Consulting Associates, LLC. ("MCA") is looking for a Survey Technician to join our team! MCA is a multifaceted energy, land, and community development engineering and surveying firm serving public and private clients thought the Midwest. The Survey Technician is responsible for using AutoCAD software to provide support to surveyors by performing a variety of design/drafting activities, including construction layouts, detail topographic drawings, and other survey related sketches and diagrams.Duties & Responsibilities Produce drawings using computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software.Review and analyze sketches, notes, and verbal information to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments.Process field crew survey data.Conduct trips to field to clarify/verify survey data or assist field staff as necessary.Prepare base survey mapping.Create stakeout data for construction layout.Revise and/or modify drawings as necessary.Maintain project point database files.Plot, organize and assemble project related documents.Develop, understand, and follow project budgets and schedules.Duties as assigned by Project Manager.Compensation and Benefits Compensation ranges depends on experience.Medical benefits package that includes medical & prescription coverage and dental plans for employees and their qualifying family members (eligible after 90 days of employment), which is 100% covered by the employer.Retirement benefits including a 401(k) plan with up to 4% employer match (eligible after 6 months of employment), which is 100% fully vested on day one.Group term life insurance and long-term disability offered to eligible employees.Additional voluntary benefits (Accident, Critical Illness, Short-Term Disability, VSP, Life and AD&D) offered to eligible employees.Holiday pay as well as PTO available after 90 days of employment. RequirementsQualifications Associates degree in drafting/design or equivalent combination of education & experience.Minimum two (2) years applicable experience preferred.Must be proficient in AutoCAD and/or Civil3D.Proficient in MS Office and able to integrate Excel with AutoCAD and GIS as needed.Valid driver's license and be able to travel to office, clients, and project sites as needed.Strong interdisciplinary in order to coordinate drawings and identify drawing conflicts between disciplines.Excellent concentration, proofreading, and strong attention to detail.Exceptional written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skill, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, clients, and stakeholders.Strong planning, organization, preparation, problem solving, and execution capabilities to balance projects and meet deadlines. Work Environment and Physical Demands Frequently lifts or moves objects up to 20 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
