This includes responsibility for reporting financial performance, managing assets, directing budgets, and serving as the lead financial advisor to the Hospital President and Board of Trustees. The VP/CFO contributes to the broader strategic interests and mission of the organization within the Johns Hopkins Health System.Reporting to the President of JHBMC and the Vice President, Corporate Finance of the Johns Hopkins Health System, the VP CFO-BMC is responsible for planning and organizing the financial strategy of JHBMC and working with senior leadership. The role also involves close collaboration with the Board of Trustees to keep them informed of the financial status.This position evaluates strategic opportunities, growth, and performance improvements, working with clinical and operational leaders to ensure adequate funding for services.Key ResponsibilitiesThe VP CFO- BMC leads the finance team and is part of the JHBMC executive leadership. Responsibilities include:Setting strategic financial direction in consultation with hospital leadership.Managing financial resources, overseeing accounting, compliance, budgeting, and financial analysis.Supporting financial leadership and advising on environmental factors affecting performance.Providing timely financial information to the Board and senior management.Financial Analysis and Performance Improvement ManagementCollaborating with leadership to identify and implement performance improvements, analyzing revenues and expenses, and advising on budget development. Working with shared service leaders to improve performance and ensure effective expense controls. Managing real estate transactions and preparing hospital budgets for approval.Workforce DevelopmentDeveloping the finance team, aligning roles with organizational needs, and fostering career development and succession planning.Joint Agreement / Funds FlowPartnering with JHHS on funds flow governance, defining costs of teaching and services, and reviewing agreements annually.JHHS Shared ServicesBuilding relationships across JHHS, managing financial activities, and supporting audit processes.General DutiesSupporting hospital leadership, analyzing economic and regulatory impacts, participating in strategic planning, and performing cost studies. Engaging in continuous professional development and additional duties as assigned.Professional Experience and QualificationsRequires an MBA or CPA, with at least 15 years of progressive hospital financial management experience. Must demonstrate leadership, financial acumen, change management skills, and experience working with top executives and the Board. Physician relations skills and ability to manage in a matrix environment are essential. #J-18808-Ljbffr
