Responsibilities include financial reporting, asset management, budget oversight, and advising the Hospital President and Board of Trustees. This role aligns with the broader strategic goals of the Johns Hopkins Health System, working with system leadership to optimize effectiveness and economies of scale. Reporting to the President of JHBMC and the Vice President, Corporate Finance of Johns Hopkins Health System, the VP CFO-BMC directs the strategic financial planning of JHBMC, collaborates with senior leadership, and communicates financial status to the Board of Trustees. The position plays a vital role in evaluating strategic opportunities, growth, and performance improvement, and interacts regularly with clinical and operational leaders to ensure adequate and efficient funding of services. Key Responsibilities Set strategic financial direction in consultation with hospital leadership, evaluating healthcare trends and market opportunities. Manage financial resources, including accounting, compliance, analysis, budgeting, and IT functions, in coordination with Johns Hopkins central finance. Act as a strategic partner, advising on internal and external factors impacting financial performance. Provide timely financial analysis and reporting to senior management and the Board. Financial Analysis and Performance Improvement Lead performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, satisfaction, and cost efficiencies. Analyze revenues and expenses, recommending strategies to maximize margins. Collaborate on service line expectations and performance with shared services leaders. Assist in developing and managing budgets, and oversee financial infrastructure and controls. Workforce Development Hire, develop, and retain high-performing finance staff, fostering career growth and succession planning. Joint Agreement / Funds Flow Partner with Johns Hopkins Health System on funds flow governance and cost documentation for teaching, services, and administration. JHHS Shared Services Build strong relationships within the JHHS ecosystem to optimize shared services. General Duties Support hospital leadership with financial insights for daily and strategic initiatives. Professional Experience and Qualifications MBA or CPA required. At least 15 years of progressive hospital financial and operational management experience. Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills. Experience working with top executives and boards, and in physician relations.
