Job Overview:

The Respiratory Therapist provides advanced respiratory care and patient transport, working independently within the scope of their license. Responsibilities include: Administering physician-prescribed respiratory treatments Operating ventilators (invasive/non-invasive), nebulizers, oxygen devices Suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal), chest physiotherapy Performing oximetry, capnography, EKGs, and basic arrhythmia recognition Conducting pulmonary function tests (NIF, VC, etc.) Assisting with procedures like bronchoscopy, chest tubes, trach care Drawing and analyzing arterial blood gases Providing CPR (BLS/ACLS certified), endotracheal tube insertion/removal Equipment setup, maintenance, and documentation Patient education, discharge preparation Communicating with physicians and participating in shift hand-offs
