Job Overview:
Select Medical is seeking a skilled and compassionate
Registered Nurse (RN)
for a night shift travel assignment. In this role, you'll play a key part in delivering high-quality patient care while promoting a
culture of safety
and supporting a multidisciplinary care team. The RN will supervise LPNs, CNAs, and orientees, and actively participate in patient rehabilitation and education.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission
Develop and implement individualized care plans
Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses
Educate patients and families throughout care, beginning at admission
Initiate and coordinate discharge planning
Communicate status changes effectively with team members
Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary staff
Adhere to infection control, safety, and hospital policies
Participate in unit team-building and quality improvement initiatives
Patient Population:
General rehab and medical patients
Common diagnoses: post-op, cardiac, trauma, neuro
ICU-level patients may be present (1+ year ICU experience is highly preferred)
Requirements:
Active RN license
(state-specific or compact)
BLS (AHA)
– Required prior to first shift
ACLS (AHA)
– Required prior to first shift
(CIRH only)
Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience
1+ year of ICU experience
highly preferred
Strong documentation and interdisciplinary communication skills
Commitment to safety, compassion, and teamwork
Additional Info:
Charge responsibilities may be assigned after orientation
Focus on safety: including lifting, infection control, falls, and environmental hazards
Candidates must be resourceful and team-oriented
Orientation and unit-specific training will be provided
