Neonates and infants (daily census ~40, 49 beds)

Orientation:

48 hours

Qualifications – NICU Registered Nurse

Active Massachusetts RN license (conditional license accepted)

Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Level III or IV NICU nursing jobs

NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification

BLS certification (Basic Life Support)

EPIC charting experience required

Infant Driven Feeding Training preferred

Ability to pass Telemetry exam during orientation (80% passing score)

Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)

Key Responsibilities – NICU RN

Provide high-quality nursing care to neonates and infants in a fast-paced NICU setting

Administer medications, blood products, and perform advanced procedures (arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management: AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)

Monitor and interpret vital signs, APGAR scoring, and manage respiratory support (high flow nasal cannula, JET, HFOV)

Deliver developmental care, breastfeeding support, and family education

Assist with pre- and post-operative care for neonates with surgical interventions (TEF/EA, gastroschisis, omphalocele, g-tube placement)

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory therapy, radiology, social services)

Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic health records

Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training modules
