JOB SUMMARY

Our Construction Estimators work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers during the development, design, and construction phases to produce estimates at the conceptual design, design development, and construction document stages. Our estimators are involved throughout the lifecycle of a project, collaborating with sales, development, design, and construction colleagues to support successful project outcomes.
The salary range for this role is $130,000 - $160,000. The salary may vary within the range based on factors such as location of the role, and a candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work cross functionally with development and design teams to conceptually design and estimate project scopes of work.
Developing comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for diverse construction projects.
Preparing conceptual and detailed estimates – referenced as rough order of magnitude (ROM) and bottom up estimate (BUE).
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs of mechanical, electrical, controls, civil, structural, and architectural components.
Determine labor, equipment & material requirements.
Utilize estimating standard tools i.e. OST and or STACK to generate project costs.
Develop a detailed total project cost estimate.
Estimate projects in all trades ranging from $500,000 to $100,000,000.
Assist in the preparation of the Bid/RFQ/RFP packages.
Assist in constructability review meetings with the project team.
Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Stay up-to-date with market conditions and pricing fluctuations for materials, labor, and equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
10 plus years of construction experience estimating projects with preferred background in K-12 Educational facilities.
Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
Possess the ability to develop management skills to become a team leader.
Demonstrated experience mentoring and training junior estimators and project team members.
Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects, and prioritize and delegate tasks, and maintain accurate documentation.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Advanced proficiency in Excel, experienced with specialized estimating software such as Blue Beam, OST, Insite, FastDuct, FastPipe, and STACK a plus.
Demonstrated expertise in reading and interpreting plans and blueprints.
Experience with all phases of construction projects, including ground-up, renovations, additions, repairs, and tenant improvements.
Excellent written and verbal communication for collaborating with project teams, clients, and able to support and present your estimate.
Demonstrated experience optimizing processes and workflow for improved team performance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk. The employee must rarely lift and/or move up to 10 pounds while moving files or small packages. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
