The Senior Business Analyst III works with our client on multiple projects that support the mission while supporting the Texas students. The business analyst serves as the conduit between the program/customer community and the software development team through which requirements flow.
This position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.
Responsibilities
Performs advanced, senior-level business analysis work as well as user experience design work to ensure a positive and productive end user experience.
Ensure design decisions are grounded in user experience and research and adhere to agency-wide design standards and industry-wide best practices and will partner with the product team and other key stakeholders on design solutions.
Involvement at some level throughout the entire software development life cycle.
Management of the requirements specification and verifying the fulfillment of all requirements, including requirements for enhancements post-implementation.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Here’s What You Need
8 years of experience eliciting requirements from interviews with customers and creating well-written system requirements.
8 years of experience with software development life cycles (SDLCs).
8 years of experience with Business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement experience.
8 years of experience developing user stories and use cases that conform to business analysis best practices.
8 years of experience designing mockups and/or wireframes that conform to UX best practices.
5 years of demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills.
5 years of demonstrated strong writing and organization skills.
Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
Minimum Skills:
Must possess problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency.
Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time.
Ability to forge new relationships, individual and teaming in nature.
Must be a Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
3 years of documented work experience with the requirements management software "Modern Requirements."
3 years of documented work experience with the issue tracking software "Atlassian Jira."
2 years of documented experience working for or closely with TEA or another state or local education agency.
1 year of documented experience with Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) program.

Working Conditions
Professional hybrid office environment.
Ability to work on-site in Austin, TX.
Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.
