Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a 24-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:6. This role requires a commitment to enhancing patient satisfaction and improving health outcomes by administering medications, coordinating care plans, and monitoring patient progress.

Responsibilities: - Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients of all ages in a medical-surgical setting. - Perform assessments, create individualized care plans, and evaluate patients' progress. - Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders while ensuring compliance with safety protocols. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate seamless patient care and discharge processes. - Keep accurate medical records using the Meditech EHR system. - Support nursing leadership in achieving departmental goals and maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications: - Active and unrestricted RN license in Virginia. - BLS certification required (HWC available on-site). - A minimum of 1 year of experience in medical-surgical nursing is preferred; 2+ years is a plus. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.

Unit Information: - Number of Beds: 24 - Patient Ratios: 1:6 - EHR System: Meditech

Schedule Requirements: - Full-time position with a commitment of 36 hours per week. - Weekend shifts required every other week or as needed. - On-call responsibilities may be necessary.

Dress Code: - Scrubs: Any color; casual wear not permitted.
