A New York based non-profit is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, to provide medical and psychiatric evaluation and treatment as part of a clinic based, multidisciplinary team and in a clinic environment, focused on individuals in Suffolk County with mental health conditions.

Qualifications: Current NYS licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner through the NYS Education Department Valid and clean NYS Driver's License Fingerprinting and criminal background check Approval from NYS Office of Mental Health Job Function:

Provide psychiatric and medical assessment and treatment as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team within the Clinical Services Department, serving individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.

Core Responsibilities Clinical Duties Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and medical assessments and provide ongoing treatment Develop, maintain, and supervise medication administration procedures and psychiatric treatment protocols Provide back-up medical coverage during staff absences, including administration of IM injections when needed Ensure timely and accurate clinical documentation, including: Progress notes for all sessions, phone calls, and collateral contacts Initial and updated psychiatric assessments

Supervision & Training Supervise RNs and LPNs on medication administration practices Provide training and professional development to staff on psychiatric medications and treatments Key Skills & Competencies Advanced knowledge of psychopharmacology and psychiatric assessment Strong leadership and team coordination abilities Effective clinical direction and decision-making Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to manage time effectively and multitask under pressure Organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed Familiarity with clinic operations and evidence-based practices Understanding of community-based resources and support networks
