Direct Counsel is representing an AmLaw100 firm seeking a National Security and International Trade Junior Associate to join its dynamic Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of legal experience and should be well-versed in regulatory practices involving: Export and import controls (e.g., ITAR, EAR)
Foreign ownership, control, or influence (FOCI) mitigation measures
Economic sanctions (e.g., OFAC regulations)
Other U.S. and international trade compliance regulations

The role is well-suited for someone looking to grow their skills, assume increasing responsibility, and develop strong client relationships. Qualifications: JD from an accredited law school
Admission to the Bar (DC preferred or eligibility to waive in)
Strong academic credentials
Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Demonstrated interest in national security, export controls, or trade law
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Compensation: Base Salary Range: $215,000 – $260,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
