Department Information The Department of Management and Info Systems is the one of the larger departments in the Mike Cottrell College of Business (MCCB) and includes majors in Information Systems and in Management with concentration options in Business Leadership and Entrepreneurship in the BBA degree program. The MCCB is an AACSB-accredited business school with over 4,800 students across five campuses. The College includes the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the Truist Center for Ethical Leadership. In addition to the BBA degrees in Management, Information Systems, Accounting, Marketing and Finance, the College offers undergraduate degrees in Technology Management and an associate degree. Graduate programs include the Cottrell MBA, Master of Accountancy, and three graduate certificates. The international group of teacher-scholars provides an exceptional learning community to prepare students for their professional roles and to engage with business and industry in the region to foster economic development. Job Summary The Department of Management and Info Systems in the Mike Cottrell College of Business (MCCB) at the University of North Georgia (UNG) invites applicants for the position of Lecturer to teach Management courses and Introduction to Business course sections beginning with the Fall 2025 semester. The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate courses on multiple UNG campuses. Responsibilities Use innovative teaching and learning techniques to provide industry-relevant undergraduate management courses and sections of introduction to business course at the first-year level. Engage with the business community to further the goals of the Mike Cottrell College of Business (e.g., connecting students to potential employers). Participate as an active contributing member to the service activities of the college. Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Knowledge of teaching and learning practices Knowledge of theoretical and applied concepts of business & management. Passion for working with students to develop their skills and expertise. Ability to demonstrate best practices of written and oral business communication Ability to work as part of a collaborative team Required Qualifications An earned master's degree in an area with a primary focus on management, with at least 18 graduate hours in management or equivalent, preferably from an AACSB-accredited institution, is required at the time of hire. Recent substantive and significant industry experience relevant to basic management strategies. Preference will be given to those applicants who have a record of excellent teaching and practice in the area of business & management, commitment to business education. Preference will also be given to applicants with experience assisting students in career readiness activities such as resume preparation and job search strategies.
