Job Overview
A growing manufacturing company in Dyersville is seeking a detail-oriented Laser Operator to join their team. This individual will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating laser machines to cut/form/fold materials to precise specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Program and operate laser machines, adjusting speed, feed, and path of cut for optimal results
Measure and position materials accurately according to job specifications and ERP instructions
Select and prepare materials as outlined in manufacturing orders
Record run times, material usage, and scrap in the M3 ERP system
Conduct quality checks to ensure final products meet required standards
Operate overhead/jib cranes and forklifts to move raw materials and finished goods
Minimize material waste through efficient setup and utilization
Maintain equipment in clean, safe, and operational condition
Report discrepancies in machine performance or material to management immediately
Log job start and finish times accurately in the system
Keep work area clean and comply with safety procedures and company policies
Properly use and store tools and equipment
Perform additional tasks and support other departments as needed
Requirements:
Previous experience operating laser or CNC machinery preferred
Familiarity with ERP systems (M3 experience is a plus)
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders
Forklift and crane operation experience preferred
Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
