Job Summary:
The Laser Operator is responsible for operating a laser machine to cut holes or layout marks in sheet metal. This role involves preparing materials, setting up equipment, and ensuring accurate and efficient cuts in accordance with production specifications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate laser to cut holes or layout marks in metal sheets, plates, strips, or bars according to charts or sheets detailing machine settings.
Check and install proper nozzle type or consumables in the torch based on the cut sheet.
Place and align sheet metal on the table manually using scale and end gauge.
Set machine parameters and cutting conditions.
Select and run the appropriate program for the job.
Manually remove finished parts, deburr edges, and ensure clean final products.
Stack finished sheet metal parts onto pallets or skids, tagging with correct part numbers.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:
Job Skills: Must work at a fast pace to maintain machine productivity.
Mathematical Skills: Reasoning Ability: Solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands:
Occasionally lift, push, or pull 20–30 lbs.
Stand for prolonged periods during shift.
Work Environment:
Exposure to moving mechanical equipment, such as forklifts and fabrication machinery.
Potential for harsh temperature changes and moderate noise levels.
Safety equipment must be worn at all times.
Tools and Equipment Used:
Hand tools: hammers, files
Power tools: grinders, sanders
Laser cutting equipment
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Steel-toe shoes and safety glasses are required.
Gloves provided as needed.
Full-length trousers and shirts covering the chest, back, and legs are mandatory.
