Summary This position is part of the Defense Media Activity. The incumbent will be responsible for providing expert guidance in directing, planning, budgeting, requirement definition, acquisition, system development, system operations and the full range of technical support activities to ensure quality Datacenter operations and customer IT support. Responsibilities As a Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) at the GS-2210-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Works closely with the Senior Information Assurance Officer (SIAO) to ensure that the DMA global Enterprise complies with the Department of Defense Risk Management Framework Process (RMF) and to maintain the Approval to Operate (ATO) status. Assists in researching and evaluating technologies and organizing information necessary for the development and implementation of Enterprise IT security projects. Serves as the Information Assurance technical expert for all management, administrative and technical requirements for DMA. Research technical capabilities of contractors, develop estimated costs, drafts technical requests for proposals, assess the capability of contract experts, and provide advice to the DMA Enterprise Architect on final selection. Participates, as needed, in inter agency negotiations on IT contract support, project agreements and areas, financial viability of business projects, and methods for funding and cost sharing arrangements, as applicable. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Leading IT infrastructure, software and cloud projects from inception to completion. Planning and coordinating a wide range of activities designed to ensure and to protect IT systems, services, and capabilities. Monitoring and evaluating vulnerabilities of automated information systems to prevent, assess and resolve risks associated with firewalls and security policies. Analysis and evaluation of IT network systems performance, technology rollout planning and insertion using the least disruptive practices, cybersecurity principles, concepts and practices, programs, and issues of the Information System Security Management (ISSM) program area. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
