DescriptionOur firm is seeking to add one to three attorneys to our closely knit team. We are seeking a stable job history with a proven record of success.Responsibilities•Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action.•Manage a full case load, ensuring that clients get personalized attention from you as the attorney.•Settle and negotiate solutions where possible through mediation, settlement conference, and simple document exchange.•Fight for clients and zealously litigate cases, motions, or issues that can not be resolved through settlement efforts.•Manage family law cases from start to finish.•Utilize superior writing skills to draft and approve all legal documents from motions, pleadings, responses, and discovery to briefs.•Meet with clients and obtain information needed for DRFA. Discuss and review financial information and consistency of data.•Help drive and facilitate 5-star reviews by satisfied clients.•Perform quality work that results in happy clients who re-hire us and refer their friends and family members.•Divide marital assets, including real estate, retirement accounts, debts, vehicles, crypto, and investments when necessary during divorce proceedings. Draft marital balance sheets.•Read, review, and approve all legal documents drafted by paralegals and support staff, such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders.•Work in synergy with skilled paralegals and staff members as a part of a high-functioning team.Qualifications•Licensed to practice in the State of Georgia with no prior discipline or disbarment from the Georgia Bar.•A minimum of three years prior experience as a family law attorney in the State of Georgia (or a minimum of 1 year if you were a paralegal for 5 or more years.•Prior case management experience working with family law clients or criminal clients, leading a case from start to close.•Knowledge of Georgia family laws, cases, and procedures.•Familiarity with metro Atlanta family law judges.•Prior trial experience in divorce and child custody cases.•Excellent old-fashioned work ethic. No 9-5 mindsets. We value work-life balance but do not want employees with a clock-out-at-5:00 p.m. mindset. Arrive on time, work efficiently, and ensure deadlines are met and cases are managed in a proactive way to reduce stress on staff and clients.•Team player who works with our high-functioning team. We are accountable and own it when we make a mistake, learn from it, and move on. We understand that we are engaged in the practice of law. We have established ways of doing things and need lawyers who can work within our systems and work together to constantly improve them.•Able to manage a full caseload with the help of our skilled paralegals and legal staff.•Not afraid to go to court and litigate and fight for clients. Our ideal lawyer can settle cases where possible, but litigate if needed on some or all of the issues.•Superior client management and case management skills.•Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations.
