Our client, a leader in the utility industry, is seeking a Technician Associate to join their team. As a Technician Associate, you will be part of the design team supporting grid modernization and transmission projects. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title:  Electrical Technician Associate
Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Pay Rate: $23.57 per hour
What's the Job?
Utilize DDS software to analyze distribution utility poles for adding grid modernization equipment or line rebuilds. Track due dates for assigned projects and collaborate with the design team and project managers to ensure high-quality designs. Assist in resolving routine problems and provide support to team members as needed. Plan work in accordance with AEP standard practices and maintain accurate records. Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, assisting in the preparation of technical reports.
What's Needed?
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of related utility industry work experience; or an Associate's Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Civil/Mechanical Engineering Technology or related fields. Basic computer literacy and knowledge of relevant standards, codes, and regulations. Ability to work collaboratively and seek assistance when necessary. Strong planning and organizational skills to prioritize routine work effectively. Willingness to travel across service territory for project support.
