Position Purpose: The role of our delivery drivers is vital to ensuring food and food service products reach customers on time and in excellent condition. They are the face of our company, fostering strong relationships with our clients. Drivers are responsible for operating a tractor trailer or straight truck on various routes to deliver and unload food products while adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Primary Responsibilities: Communicates professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers, ensuring accurate and timely responses to inquiries. Works as a team member within the organization and takes on any assigned duties to best serve the company. Conducts all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections to ensure that vehicles meet company safety standards. Reports safety issues and required repairs immediately. Adheres strictly to DOT regulations and company safety driving policies. Inspects trailers for properly loaded and secured freight. Performs count checks of items and verifies customer invoices for loaded products. Completes all related paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly. Drives to deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route schedule. Unloads products from the trailer and transports them into designated storage areas. Conducts checks on items for damage, scans, and notifies a supervisor for any removals per company policy. Confirms delivery with customers and collects proper signatures. Ensures that tractors, trailers, and products are securely locked when not in use. Handles returns and damaged goods per established procedures. Maintains daily records of service hours in compliance with Federal DOT regulations. Performs housekeeping duties in the truck and loading areas as necessary. Secures all equipment and completes required paperwork at the end of each shift. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: 12+ months of commercial driving experience. High school diploma/GED or equivalent. Valid CDL A. Must be at least 21 years old. Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years. Must pass a post-offer drug test and background check. Valid DOT Health Card or ability to secure one. Able to hand-lift and utilize tools to move freight varying from 10-90 pounds.
