Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney
Salary: $110,000 - $140,000 base
(negotiations are possible if candidate offers any BoB or if they exhibit the ability to hit the ground running and take cases from inception through completion on their own (25-40 cases monthly)
Benefits: $60 per month towards phone bill, 15 days PTO after 90 day maturation period, full health, $401k after 1 year.
Schedule: Remote/Hybrid (2 days in office), 9AM - 6PM (if candidate needs to leave early on a day, say 12:30 PM, the firm DOES NOT dock them) There is no annual or monthly billable requirement as they run a tight-knit ship which is collaborative and supportive.

We seek an associate attorney with at least 1 year of experience working on workers' compensation cases in the state of Florida. This is for a tight-knit team of attorneys who collaborate and work as a team to form one of the most formidable legal defense teams within the practice area. With offices located off Brickell in Miami's downtown district, the firm has reach throughout South Florida and relationships with virtually every insurance carrier. Any motivated attorney could come in and within 6 months become independent WITH their own book. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of three (3) years as a practicing attorney with a minimum of one (1) year within Florida's workers' compensation law (Chapter 440) , preferably on behalf of employers, insurance brokers and insurance carriers defending fraudulent claims of workplace injury.
In this role, the associate will become instrumental in the defense of employers, insurers, insurance brokers, and other entities against potentially fraudulent workplace injury claims. The associate, through mentorship and hands-on litigation experience alongside one of the managing partners and leadership staff, will be built up to become an attorney capable of managing a robust caseload from inception to conclusion. Key Responsibilities: * Analyze depositions, shadow mediations and arbitrations, and learn the art of litigation within workers' compensation law * Conduct thorough legal research and analysis with a fiercely forensic investigative approach * Draft comprehensive and well-written pleadings, motions and other legal filings to be reviewed. * Collaborate with senior attorneys and paralegals to develop comprehensive defense strategies to protect their clients' interests and mitigate potential fraud within the workplace. * Engage with directly and actively build a network consisting of insurance agents and brokers and other clients, demonstrating competency in legal counsel and collaboration. * Communicate through MS TEAMS, utilize other cutting-edge technology such as case tracking systems, e-discovery, Lexis Nexis and the swath of tools available to ensure meticulous file management and adherence to the highest standards of responsiveness and completion. Qualifications: * Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA accredited law school. * Active member of the Florida Bar with good standing. * 3+ years as a practicing attorney, with at least 6-months minimum preferably 1-year directly within Florida's Statute 440 workers' compensation law. * Forensic, inquisitive and curious analytical and research skills. * Competent, if not superb, legal writing ability. * Strong verbal skill and adaptive skills and abilities. * Commitment to litigation of workers' compensation defense cases and passionate in the manner. * Technologically proficient with modern technology and fast to learn new tools.
