Direct Counsel is representing an Am Law 100 firm seeking a Junior Health Care Litigation Associate to join its nationally recognized federal health care litigation practice in Charleston, South Carolina. Position Overview This is an excellent opportunity for a junior associate with at least one year of litigation experience—preferably in federal court—to join a growing team that handles complex, high-stakes disputes in the health care sector. The associate will work alongside seasoned litigators on federal reimbursement, APA, FCA, and payor-related cases. Key Responsibilities Draft motions, briefs, and other pleadings with minimal supervision

Conduct legal research and analysis in support of litigation strategy

Assist in case preparation for federal trials and hearings

Handle matters related to federal health care reimbursement and compliance

Support litigation arising from the Administrative Procedure Act (APA) and False Claims Act (FCA)

Participate in government investigations and regulatory disputes

Qualifications Required: JD from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials

Admission to the South Carolina Bar or ability to transfer a UBE score

Minimum 1 year of litigation or federal clerkship experience

Exceptional legal writing and analytical skills

Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal matters independently and efficiently

Preferred: Prior experience with APA, FCA, or health care reimbursement litigation

Experience with government and private payor disputes

Federal clerkship or strong law school writing experience (e.g., journal or moot court)

Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $210,000 – $230,000, commensurate with experience
