Job Details
We're currently seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. This is a part-time permanent position requiring 20-25 hours per week. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, and financial tasks, including managing all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent numerical skills, and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
* Manage all financial transactions, including fixed payments, variable expenses, bank deposits, and budgets. * Prepare and maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts. * Prepare preliminary financial reports, such as income statements and balance sheets. * Ensure all transactions are properly recorded and entered into the computerized accounting system. * Assist in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings. * Assist with other accounting projects, as needed. * Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings, and statements. * Reconcile accounts payable and receivable. * Process payroll for employees, ensuring accurate and timely completion. * Perform job costing functions, including tracking costs and providing detailed cost reports. * Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner. * Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and procedures.
Qualifications:
* Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures. * Competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software. * Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports. * Accuracy and attention to detail. * Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills. * Diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration. * Ability to handle high volumes of data. * Excellent communication and organizational skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * High level of integrity and dependability. * Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures. * Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities. * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically. * Excellent data entry skills. * Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
