Full-time: 8:30 - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday, Flexible hours
Location: Hybrid - Coconut Creek, FL 33066, work from home and visiting businesses.
Pay rate: Salary, based on skills and experience.

Summary:
The Youth Employment Specialist will advance JA's workforce development initiatives by implementing the Career Source Broward Youth Employment grant. The Specialist will recruit students, job sites and ensure the overall success of the program. The Youth Employment Specialist will report to the Youth Employment Manager and will also work closely with the Education Coordinator to provide student support and case management services.
What you will do: Recruit eligible program participants
Collaborate with Broward County Public Schools on school program day schedules
Plan and facilitate intake sessions, including document collection
Ensure students receive case management services to be successful in the program
Manage participant files in several systems including participant ISS, Employ Florida, DMS, etc.
Collect, enter and properly store participant documents such as hiring forms, report cards, timesheets, surveys, etc.
Create program day work readiness curriculum
Provide Career Assessment to program participants
Facilitate program days and small group coaching sessions
Work with Community Outreach Manager to recruit program day volunteers
Ensure participants have positive program exit
Follow up with participants quarterly after program completion
Oversee necessary documentation such as Employ Florida, DMS, etc.
Act as a liaison with CareerSource Broward for trainings, meetings, to determine and request support services (transportation, clothing, etc.)
Communicate with participant parents/guardians
Plan and facilitate participant orientations
Recruit, select and support WEX sites
Manage participants time to meet CareerSource guidelines
Ensure that all male participants 18 or older register for Selective Service
Schedule student interviews
Conduct WEX site visits
Facilitate participant performance reviews
Resolve participant/WEX site conflicts when necessary
Evaluate and record participant MSG (measurable skills gained)
Create and implement participant incentive plan
Support participant with post-secondary education, military, or professional plans
Prepare for state audits
Run program reports
Meet grant deliverables

What you will need: Bachelor's Degree and/or relevant experience.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a non-profit program position
Proven ability to effectively manage high school student programs
Employee must have a vehicle to travel to/from appointments, events, etc.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills (written/verbal)and being an active listener
Strong networking skills
Strong public speaking/presentation skills
Ability to work in constituent database systems (ie BCRM)
Ability to handle several projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven, team-oriented environment
Highly organized and strong project management skills
