Join our vital team at the Wastewater Treatment Plant and play a key role in maintaining essential infrastructure that serves our community. About the Role: We’re seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to help inspect, repair, and maintain critical equipment and facilities that support wastewater operations. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong technical background in mechanical or electrical systems and a passion for keeping operations running smoothly. Responsibilities Include: Perform daily inspections of buildings, machinery, and equipment Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on pumps, blowers, conveyors, filters, hydraulic presses, and more Carry out welding, grinding, and fabrication for custom equipment repairs Install, calibrate, and maintain industrial wastewater sampling devices Assist with carpentry, painting, plumbing, and general facility upkeep Maintain and repair plant vehicles and equipment Operate automotive equipment as needed Note: This list includes representative duties and may be expanded to include similar tasks as required. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent (including IEP diploma) and one of the following: Option A: Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or related technical field from an accredited college Option B: At least 2 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical equipment Option C: A combination of education and experience equivalent to the above Special Requirement: Must hold a valid New York State driver’s license appropriate for the vehicles operated Salary: $31.49 per hour How to Apply: Applications are available at the Finance Office .
