The Vice President, Original Programming Business Affairs reports to the Senior Vice President and Head, Original Programming Business Affairs.Primary Responsibility:The Vice President, Original Programming Business Affairs will serve as day-to-day business affairs executive on behalf of Starz both as network and studio. Responsibilities including negotiating actor, writer, producer, director, and rights acquisition agreements, along with a variety of license/co-production deals, all in connection with the development and production of original television series. The position handles the administration of deals and is the go-to person for business affairs related questions from departments across the company. While this is a pure business affairs position, since the department is a combined legal and business affairs department, occasional drafting may be required. The Vice President will work closely with the Starz Originals legal team and will interact with internal executives from creative, production, finance, marketing and PR, as well as outside producers, agents, lawyers and managers. In addition, the Vice President at times will stand in for the Senior Vice President and Head, Original Programming Business Affairs, which will entail interacting with senior Starz executives.Education, Knowledge, and Experience:JD and minimum of ten years of business affairs experience gained in an entertainment law firm, television network and/or television production company.
