About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP, Strategic Procurement to join their team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping and defining the overall purchasing and procurement engagement strategy, with a focus on creating business arrangements that foster long-lasting, strong, and fruitful relationships. This role is pivotal in establishing the company's commercial proposal, including value modeling and terms, in partnership with key internal and external stakeholders. The VP, Strategic Procurement will be responsible for leading the optimization of client procurement processes, driving the creation of customized value offerings, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements and industry best practices. The role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to make data-driven decisions, solve complex problems, and drive ambiguity, as well as a proven track record of negotiating complex contracts within the pharma/life-science industry.
Candidates for this role at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in business, law, finance, or a related field, with an MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred. A minimum of 10 years' of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership position, is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic sourcing, procurement, or a similar role, with a deep understanding of the procurement landscape, including market trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements across the healthcare ecosystem. Experience in the pharma or life sciences industry, particularly with a focus on advertising, communications, and medical affairs, is essential. The role demands a leader with strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, and a proven track record of creating outcomes through strong collaboration.
