Description: Rose Animal Clinic is seeking a dynamic and experienced Veterinary Practice Manager to take full responsibility for the clinic’s day-to-day operations, financial performance, team leadership, and client experience. This is a high-accountability leadership role with the opportunity for profit-sharing based on clinic performance. The Practice Manager will be responsible for managing the hospital as an independent business unit. This includes full oversight of the hospital’s P&L , staffing and scheduling, inventory and cost control, customer service, regulatory compliance, marketing, and long-term strategic growth.
Core Responsibilities Leadership & Operations Lead all day-to-day operations of Rose Animal Clinic with autonomy and accountability. Maintain a healthy, professional, and efficient work environment that supports both clinical excellence and staff well-being. Serve as the point of contact between the clinic and Rose Veterinary Management Group. Oversee workflow to ensure excellent patient care and client satisfaction. Financial & Business Management Full responsibility for the hospital’s profit and loss (P&L) statement. Manage all clinic expenses, including labor , cost of goods sold , and operating overhead . Drive revenue growth while controlling costs through smart scheduling, vendor management, and process optimization. Conduct monthly financial reviews and benchmarking using industry standards. Develop and manage budgets for staffing, supplies, equipment, and marketing. Human Resources & Scheduling Oversee all aspects of the hospital team including hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations , and disciplinary actions. Create and manage employee schedules to ensure adequate coverage while meeting labor cost targets. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Develop retention strategies and drive team engagement. Client Relations & Marketing Ensure a superior customer experience from check-in to follow-up. Address client concerns professionally and effectively. Implement marketing and community outreach strategies to grow the clinic’s client base. Represent the clinic at local events and with community partners. Compliance & Inventory Ensure the hospital is compliant with all state, federal, and veterinary board regulations. Oversee and manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships. Implement systems for inventory tracking and control to minimize waste and shrinkage. Qualifications 3+ years of veterinary, healthcare, or small business management experience. Strong financial acumen and experience managing a P&L. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team. Strong organizational and communication skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment. Experience with veterinary practice software (e.g., AVImark) is a plus.
