What You'll Do

As a Vehicle and Hydraulic Mechanic, you'll:

  • Provide timely, courteous, and professional service to maintain our fleet vehicles and hydraulic systems.

  • Perform repairs on everything from engines and transmissions to hydraulics and braking systems.

  • Conduct routine maintenance and in-depth troubleshooting for all system vehicles and equipment.

  • Assist with roadside breakdowns and transport vehicles when needed (including occasional overnight stays).

  • Ensure inspections and documentation meet all regulatory standards (State, Federal, D.O.T.).

  • Keep our shop and work areas clean, safe, and well-organized.

What We're Looking For

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 3+ years' experience as a general vehicle mechanic (hydraulic system experience preferred).

  • Have strong knowledge of:

    • Diesel and gasoline engines

    • Drive train systems, brakes (including anti-lock and air brakes), AC systems

    • Fuel injection and electrical/hydraulic schematics

  • Are skilled in welding, cutting, brazing, and fabrication.

  • Have the ability to read and interpret technical instructions and service data.

  • Have basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and documentation.

  • Understand the importance of safety and compliance with all relevant regulations.

  • Are dependable, organized, and a strong team player.

Required Credentials
  • High school diploma or GED required (or equivalent work experience).

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (7 years required).

  • Must pass all required DOT physicals and drug screenings.

  • Certifications in:

    • Air conditioning recovery

    • Brake inspection

    • NC D.O.T. vehicle inspections

    • Hydraulic equipment inspections
