We’re seeking a someone with a passion for numbers, accounting, bookkeeping, googlsheets to join our vibe, with core experience in numbers and a natural ability to connect hospitality and emotion with profitability and performance metrics . If someone lacks experience but is a recent graduate or close to graduation, we are open to training the right person under the mentorship of our senior controller who bookkeeper will be working in tandem with.

We want someone who is equally able to make numbers fun for a fast paced management team as they are able to follow up on past due guest bills, financial forecasts and vendor payments. *Role Description*
We are looking for a Accounting Bookkeeper to oversee the day-to-day financial operations at Bronzeville Winery. The Accounting Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining financial reports, performing analytical tasks, creating journal entries, and keeping track of fixed assets. This is a hybrid role, requiring the Accounting Bookkeeper to be located in Chicago, but also allowing some remote work. The ideal candidate will have a deep entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to work closely with Front of House managers and Back of House Culinary Team on accounting concepts, achieving KPIs and operational processes.

* Proficiency in Accounting Journal Entries and Finance management
* Ability to manage Fixed Assets and ensure accuracy of financial statements and reporting
* Experience using accounting software and Quickbooks
* Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field
* CPA certification is a plus
*Responsibilities*
Responsible for all general accounting and bookkeeping functions.
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement, account reconciliations, financial statements and other financial reports for internal and external use.
Prepare and post journal entries, schedules, balance sheet reconciliations & adjusting entries maintain accurate and reasonable documentation.
Collect, analyze and present financial information to the management team, identifying risks andopportunities to aid the team in meeting their specific goals.
Assist departments with periodic budget reviews and forecasts.
Ensures all invoices and transactions are recorded and paid in an accurate and timely manner.
Process payroll, employee benefits (health & savings) and recordkeeping for commission payouts
Oversee Processing of invoices for events and/or private parties including the collection of accounts receivables.
Assist FOH/BOH with invoice mapping, menu builds and physical inventory audits including recording data into Extrachef.
Employee onboarding (from a payroll/HR perspective) for all new employees.
Perform or assist in physical inventory audits, when necessary.
Ensure well-defined cash flow management.
Participate in monthly financial reviews - identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.
Assist with sales, use, liquor, soft drink tax and other state and local tax filings on a monthly basis and support sales and use tax audits as needed.
Researching federal, state and local taxation issues
Produce ad-hoc reports.
*Qualifications, Education and Behavior:*
2+ years of previous restaurant accounting/bookkeeping experience.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, preferred or bookkeeping certification from an accredited institution.
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point)
Motivated self-starter, ability to work independently.
Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and succinctly with restaurant managers
who may not have a financial background or strong grasp of restaurant accounting.
Must have:
Ability to work in restaurant when necessary.
Working knowledge of Quickbooks, Toast, Toast Payroll, Extrachef, Tripleseat, Sling and Tock.
Metric management```Duties:```
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department
- Supervise a team of accounting professionals and provide guidance and support
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of financial statements, reports, and analysis
- Perform general ledger accounting and account reconciliation tasks
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
- Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation and support
```Qualifications:```
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA certification preferred)
- Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role
- Strong knowledge of Quicken, general ledger accounting, and accrual accounting principles
- Excellent financial acumen with a deep understanding of corporate finance concepts
- Proficient in account reconciliation and financial analysis
- Solid understanding of accounting software systems and proficiency in MS Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
