Responsibilities
Position Summary: Responsible for providing efficient, quality-oriented patient care by producing quality diagnostic ultrasounds to assist medical personnel in patient diagnosis in a timely and professional manner when ordered by a physician, and effectively coordinating the process for ordering the procedure and transmitting the images to the radiologist. Ultrasound technicians, operate Ultrasound equipment, which produces images of internal body structures for diagnostic purposes. In addition to conducting ultrasounds, Ultrasound technicians prepare patients for these diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and positioning patients to correctly capture the images requested by a physician. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Current ARDMS required. Current, valid, and active certification to practice as an Ultrasound Technician in the state of employment required. Completion of specialized (obstetrics and gynecology, cardiac, vascular, musculoskeletal) certificate program as required Two (2) years of recent experience in area of specialty required. Current, valid, and active driver’s license required. Ability to travel using publicly available air and ground transportation Recent acute care experience for acute care and LTAC placements Additional Qualifications/Skills: Patient Preparation and Positioning: Accurately position patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety while adhering to radiation protection protocols. Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy, CT scanners, and ultrasound machines, to obtain high-quality images. Patient Monitoring: Monitor patients during procedures, observing for any complications or unusual events, and report findings to the physician. Strong communication and collaboration abilities Detail-oriented and organized Certificates, Licensures, Registrations Current ARDMS required. Current, valid, and active certification to practice as an Ultrasound Technician in the state of employment required. Completion of specialized (obstetrics and gynecology, cardiac, vascular, musculoskeletal) certificate program as required Current BLS certification from a Vibra Travles-approved vendor required, AHA preferred and required by some clients.
