Pay Rate: $21.50/hr. on W2
Shift Time: 5:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Location: Visalia CA 93291
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Summary:
Loads and unloads trucks and move materials within or near plant, yard, or work site by performing the following essential duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Included but not limited to the following:
Adhere to all rules and regulations.
Able to identify material by part number and product finish.
Able to read work orders and follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be shipped.
Prepares trucks for loading or unloading based on type of truck and weight of material to be loaded or unloaded.
Loads track in accordance with loading patterns and to prevent shifting or damage to materials or products during transit.
Verifies materials loaded or unloaded against work order or bill of lading.
Operates overhead cranes, forklift truck or uses electric pallet jack to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
Counts, weights, and records number of units of materials shipped on daily production sheets.
Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment.
Cross train with the boxing department.
Participate in the physical inventory process.
May need to flex into material handling as needed.
Other duties as assigned. Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
One to six months' related work experience is preferred.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to effectively communicate with other employees, vendors, and supervisors.
Ability to count, to add, to subtract, and to multiply simple numbers.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with and respond to minor problems in standard work situations.
Ability to obtain a mobile equipment license, overhead crane certification, lock out/tag out certification, fall or harness protection certification, and forklift operator certification are all preferred.
Physical Demands: Able to stand for long periods of time.
Able to repetitively lift to 40 pounds or 1/3 of your body weight.
Able to work 12-hour days.
Able to wear the required PPE.
Able to bend and twist repetitively.
