**Job Summary:** We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. This position requires providing exceptional nursing care to a diverse patient population, including adult and geriatric patients. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical-surgical nursing and telemetric monitoring and possess strong critical thinking and communication skills.
**Schedule:** - 3x12 Hour Shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM - Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) - No call requirements - Float to other units as needed
**Key Responsibilities:** - Provide nursing care to patients with various orthopedic and medical-surgical conditions, including but not limited to total joint replacements, fracture repairs, and medical observation patients. - Conduct telemetry monitoring and respond effectively to patient needs and changes in condition. - Administer medications and therapies as prescribed, ensuring careful documentation in the electronic health record (Epic). - Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapy and respiratory services, to facilitate comprehensive patient care. - Participate in patient education and support initiatives to enhance recovery and promote health. - Maintain compliance with all hospital policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients and families.
**Qualifications:** - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required. - Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a medical-surgical or telemetry setting. - Experience with Epic or similar electronic charting systems is mandatory. - Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. - Candidates must pass a mandatory EKG exam as part of the compliance process.
**Patient Care Details:** - Mix of adult and geriatric patients, providing care in a 32-bed unit with telemetry capabilities. - Daily census of approximately 28 patients, offering specialized care including physical therapy within the unit.
**Education and Compliance:** - Verification of nursing education through a third-party agency is required. - Candidates must complete a background check with no open cases. - Compliance with facility-required modules and orientation is mandatory prior to the start date.
