Orientation Hours: 24 hours (system onboarding + 2 unit shifts)
Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Minimum Experience Required: 2 years of recent Telemetry RN experience
License Requirement: Must have active license at submission
BSN Required: Yes
Radius Rule: 50 miles – candidate’s permanent address must be outside this rangea

 

Unit Details:

  • Unit Type: Telemetry
  • Beds: 27 (adding 10 more beds in June)
  • Nurse:Patient Ratio: 1:4
  • Common Diagnoses: CHF, NSTEMI, STEMI, Stroke, Sepsis, Diabetes, CAD, Renal Failure, Respiratory Failure, Pneumothorax, Post-Cath Lab Patients
  • RN Skills Required:
    • Experience with post-cath recovery, TR bands, FemStops
    • NIH Stroke assessment
    • Cardiac monitoring & telemetry interpretation (every 6 hours)
    • Chest tube management
    • Experience with set-rate drips (diltiazem, amiodarone) – no titration required
  • Drips: No titration; set rate only (e.g., diltiazem, amiodarone)
  • Monitoring: Tele techs onsite until June, then centralized off-site
  • Charge Nurse & House Supervisor: Present on all shifts (do not take patients)
  • Nurse Aides: Present, 1 aide per 8–9 patients
  • RT Support: Manages CPAP, BiPAP, high flow
  • Scheduling: Travelers placed where needed; shift trades allowed; no block scheduling
  • Weekend & Holiday Requirements: Required as needed
  • Call/Standby: Not required
  • Floating Requirements: May float to like units, Med/Surg, ICU (if experienced), Boise or Nampa Medical Centers
  • Scrub Color: Any clean, professional attire
