Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel nurse RN Psychiatric for a travel nursing job in Columbus, Nebraska.

Position

• RN – Psychiatric / Behavioral Health
• Shift: Night Shift – 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
• Unit: 10-bed locked inpatient psych unit (ages 55+ with dementia or med management needs)

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of recent Behavioral Health experience required
• Experience on locked units, medication management, emergency medications, and behavioral assessments (agitation/aggression)

Certifications

• BLS (AHA) – Required
• CPI or MOAB – Preferred
  • MOAB training offered free by facility (held monthly)

Submission Package Must Include

   • Education (with month/year of graduation)
   • Full 7-year work history (include facility names, not agency)
2. Skills Checklist
   • Must be completed within 1 year (for psych specialty)
3. References
   • Two (2) from past 3 years (at least one from a supervisor)
4. License Verification
   • Through Nursys, within 30 days of submission
5. Background Check
   • Includes:
     • National Criminal
     • FACIS Level III
     • Sex Offender registry
     • SSN/address trace
     • All states/counties lived/worked in for 7 years
6. 12-Panel Drug Screen (within 60 days of start)
   • No rapid/instant tests allowed
   • Must test for: Amphetamines, Barbiturates, Cocaine, Marijuana, Methadone, PCP, Propoxyphene, Opiates, Benzodiazepines, Fentanyl, Meperidine, Tramadol
   • Dilute results = retest

Medical & Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam (within 1 year)
• TB test (within 1 year) – CXR if previously positive
• Tdap (within 10 years or declination form)
• Hepatitis B (vaccine series, titer, or declination)
• MMR (2 doses or positive titer)
• Varicella (2 doses, titer, or provider verification)
• Flu vaccine (if assignment is between 10/1–3/31 or declination)
• COVID vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption
• Fit Test: 3M N95 (can be done on Day 1 for $26)

Unit Details

• Patient Population: Geriatric psych, med management, dementia, oxygen use, etc.
• Length of Stay: 10–14 days
• Discharge: Home or long-term care
• Team: RNs, CNAs, Social Workers, Recreational Therapist
• Floating: No floating to other departments

Miscellaneous

• Scrubs: Any color, but must be facility-neutral (no other hospital logos)
• Orientation:
  • Flexible start dates
  • Includes general hospital orientation + unit-specific onboarding based on traveler’s experience
