Position Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced and compassionate
Registered Nurse
for the
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) . This role requires high-level clinical expertise in caring for critically ill infants and children in a fast-paced, acute care setting. You will be expected to deliver patient-centered care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to optimal health outcomes in a demanding clinical environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Provide direct, high-acuity nursing care to pediatric ICU patients
Perform IV insertions, phlebotomy, and administer conscious sedation
Monitor patient vitals and respond promptly to changes in condition
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to deliver comprehensive care
Maintain accurate documentation of all nursing interventions
Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, safety procedures, and infection control
Support family engagement and communication regarding patient care
Follow unit protocols and support post-sedation recovery
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric ICU experience
Proficiency in:
Maternal and child nursing care
IV insertion and phlebotomy
Administration of conscious sedation
Active
New York State RN License
AHA BLS
and
ACLS, PALS
certifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior travel nursing experience
Ability to adapt quickly in new clinical environments
Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
