Position Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) . This role requires high-level clinical expertise in caring for critically ill infants and children in a fast-paced, acute care setting. You will be expected to deliver patient-centered care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to optimal health outcomes in a demanding clinical environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Provide direct, high-acuity nursing care to pediatric ICU patients
* Perform IV insertions, phlebotomy, and administer conscious sedation
* Monitor patient vitals and respond promptly to changes in condition
* Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to deliver comprehensive care
* Maintain accurate documentation of all nursing interventions
* Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, safety procedures, and infection control
* Support family engagement and communication regarding patient care
* Follow unit protocols and support post-sedation recovery
Required Qualifications:
* Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric ICU experience
* Proficiency in:
* Maternal and child nursing care
* IV insertion and phlebotomy
* Administration of conscious sedation
* Active New York State RN License
* AHA BLS and ACLS, PALS certifications
Preferred Qualifications:
* Prior travel nursing experience
* Ability to adapt quickly in new clinical environments
* Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
