Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: 08/15/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Title: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery Location: New York, NY 10019 Contract Duration:13 Weeks Shift: Night (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)(3x12) Weekly Breakdown: Weekly Gross: $3,095.00 Per Week On W2(Taxable): $792.00 Per Week Stipend(Non-Taxable): $2,303.00 Per Week Position Summary: The Labor & Delivery RN provides competent, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to obstetric patients and their newborns. Working within a high-acuity environment, the RN is responsible for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care, including newborn assessments. The role follows the Mount Sinai Relationship-Centered Care model, emphasizing patient safety, quality outcomes, and collaborative care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality nursing care using clinical judgment and the nursing process. Conduct maternal and newborn assessments; manage postpartum care. Administer medications including Magnesium Sulfate. Coordinate care plans with interdisciplinary teams. Educate patients and families regarding childbirth, postpartum recovery, and newborn care. Foster therapeutic relationships with patients and families. Participate in bedside shift reports, purposeful rounding, and patient-centered initiatives. Address patient concerns and initiate service recovery when needed. Required Skills & Qualifications: Active NYS RN License Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Experience : Minimum 2 years Labor & Delivery nursing experience Proficiency in antepartum, postpartum, and newborn assessments Magnesium Sulfate administration experience EPIC EHR experience highly preferred 1 year of travel nursing experience preferred (not required for per diem)
