Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Location: Methodist Olive Branch Hospital, 4250 Bethel Rd, Olive Branch, MS 38654
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights – 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Facility Overview:

Methodist Olive Branch Hospital is part of the Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare system, providing compassionate care in a community hospital setting. The Labor & Delivery department includes 6 Labor & Delivery Rooms (LDRs), 6 postpartum beds, 1 antepartum bed, 1 triage bed, and 2 cesarean section suites. The hospital operates a Level I obstetrical service line and a Level II NICU.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced and supportive environment. This role includes assisting in labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, triage, and surgical support during cesarean sections.

Note: Must have previous travel experience or 3+ years of L&D experience if no travel history.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience:
  • At least 2 years of recent L&D experience with travel
  • OR at least 3 years of L&D experience without travel
  • At least 1 previous completed travel assignment
• Licensure:
  • Active RN license in TN or compact license at the time of submission (No exceptions)
  • Candidate must live at least100 miles from the facility
• Certifications (All Required):
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • NRP
  • AWHONN Intermediate
  • STABLE

Preferred Skills:

• Circulating during deliveries and cesarean sections
• Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
• Labor and delivery triage
• IV start and management

Unit and Patient Details:

• Patient Age Group: Adolescents and Adults
• Unit Size: 14 beds
• Daily Census: ~12 patients
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4 (days, nights, weekends)
• Common Diagnoses: Full spectrum of obstetrical care including labor, postpartum, triage, and C-section recovery

• Pharmacy

• Interpretation Services

Floating/Call Expectations:

• Rare float to like units within 20 miles (rare but possible)
• No on-call requirement
