Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Towson, Maryland.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: Labor and DeliveryDiscipline: RNDuration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, daysEmployment Type: TravelConducts thorough physical and psychosocial assessments using interviewing and clinical techniques.Establishes and updates nursing diagnoses and prioritizes patient needs accordingly.Anticipates needs for interdisciplinary interventions and reassesses patients based on clinical changes or response to and maintains individualized nursing care plans incorporating scientific principles and psychosocial needs.Coordinates with the care team, patient, and family for hospital stay and post-discharge planning.Integrates feedback from care planning conferences and updates plans accordingly.Independently performs clinical nursing skills and interventions, including:Administering medicationsManaging IV therapyPerforming treatments accuratelyResponds promptly to emergencies and follows proper protocols.Delegates and supervises tasks to ancillary staff all care provided in the medical record and communicates patient status verbally to physicians and care teams.Provides therapeutic communication and applies education principles to inform patients and families.Manages daily patient assignments based on acuity and care needs.Oversees care provided by support staff and ensures alignment with the patient care plan.Collaborates with other disciplines to optimize care delivery and patient outcomes.Develops and implements patient teaching and discharge plans.Participates in staff, patient, and student education programs.Engages in unit-based quality initiatives, identifies areas for improvement, and contributes to resolution efforts.May serve as charge RN or preceptor if competency is patient flow and productivity monitoring in the unit.Participates in professional development activities aligned with the facility’s Professional Excellence Model.Experience: Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience – REQUIRED License: Active Maryland RN license – REQUIRED Certifications (all required): BLS (AHA) ACLS (AHA) NRP AFM (Advanced Fetal Monitoring) NIHSSAbout Nationwide Therapy Group NTG is a proud partner with healthcare professionals across the country.
