Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience (firm requirement)
Unit Summary – ICU Traveler RN Dealbreakers: Do not submit any candidates with license issues involving: Diverting medications Endangerment These will result in immediate contract cancellation.
Unit Details: # of Beds: 30 (all private rooms; 2 with negative airflow) Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Mostly 2:1 Patient Population & Equipment: Common Diagnoses: Medical ICU cases Sepsis Respiratory failure Stroke (including TPA/thrombectomy recovery) Post-cath lab patients Targeted temperature management
Drips: Must titrate as prescribed Norepinephrine, Vasopressin, Inhaled Epoprostenol, Pressors, Sedation, etc.
RT Equipment: Vents, BiPAP, HFNC Telemetry: Yes; RNs must read their own strips No monitor techs
Staffing/Support: Charge RN: No patient load House Supervisor: On-site 24/7 Aides: None, but 2 resource RNs are scheduled in addition to the Charge Schedule Details: Shifts: 12 hours (7:00 - 7:30) Weekend: Every other weekend Holidays: Required if needed Low Census/Standby: Must be available if called off Floating: May float to Med/Surg for full assignments Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs Orientation: Unit Orientation: 2 x 12-hr day shifts + 1 x 12-hr day/night shift (based on assigned schedule) Additional Training: EPIC & general organizational orientation Other Requirements: RTO: All time-off must be submitted before contract start – inform traveler during pre-screen.
