Unit Info:

  • Mixed ICU/PCU unit
  • Ratios:
    • PCU: 4:1 or 3:1 (based on acuity)
    • ICU: 3:1
    • Vents: 2:1
    • High Acuity (Cooling, CRRT): 1:1

Common Diagnoses:
COPD, DKA, AKI, Resp. failure, Cardiac arrest, A-fib, Drug overdose

Skills/Procedures:

  • Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management
  • CRRT, HD, A-lines, CVCs, Trachs, Chest tubes
  • Emergency response

Equipment:
Cooling machines, Bair huggers, Massive transfusions, CRRT
