Suites:
3 procedural suites; support for Main OR, CVOR, and ICU – procedures may occur in these areas.
Cases/Day:
Average 20–30 cases daily
Required Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, PALS ✅ RN Duties:
Expected to float between Pre-op, Intra-op, and Post-op/PACU within Endoscopy unit. Only general sedation patients stay for PACU. Pediatric experience preferred – may be assigned pediatric cases. Some permanent RNs scrub; scrub experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Common Cases:
Patient population ranges from Pediatrics to Geriatrics. Procedures include EGD, Colonoscopy, foreign body removals, impactions, ERCPs (stent placement/removal), pancreatic & lung biopsies, SpyGlass, and more. Collaborate with IR for select cases.
Required Experience:
Minimum 1 year of inpatient hospital Endoscopy experience. No first-time travelers. Must be confident with sedation administration, including Propofol.
Leadership Presence:
Yes – Charge RN for Pre/Post Op, 1 Charge RN for Main, and 1 Lead Endo Tech in Main.
Support Staff:
2 CNAs in Pre/Post areas – one assists with clerical tasks, the other with rooming, vitals, ADLs, etc.
RT/Anesthesia Support:
CRNAs and Anesthesia provide General & MAC. RNs administer Moderate Sedation & Propofol.
Shifts & Scheduling:
4 shifts/week, each 9 hours. Start time between 7–8 AM. ⏰ Call Requirements:
Weeknights: 1 night per week (end of shift to start of next shift) Weekends: None
Holidays: May participate in holiday call rotation
Response Time: 30 minutes ⏱️ Floating:
Rare, but possible to float to sister facilities (Nampa or Meridian) in specialty roles or as a sitter.
Dress Code:
Scrubs provided by the hospital
Orientation:
RNs: 3–4 shifts with preceptor
Techs: 3–4 shifts with preceptor
