* Being ready to respond and equipped to deal with a medical emergency.
* Quickly assessing patient needs.
* Treating critical injuries, allergic reactions, and trauma.
* Performing minor medical operations.
* Cleaning wounds.
* Drawing blood.
* Maintaining emergency room care standards.
* Assisting with insurance paperwork.
