Shifts: Variable (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM and 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Job Summary:

The Emergency Department RN provides high-quality, timely, and compassionate care to patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions. This role requires the ability to perform critical assessments, respond to rapidly changing conditions, and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team during variable evening and night shifts.

Responsibilities:

Assess, triage, and provide direct patient care for a wide range of emergency conditions

Administer medications, IVs, and life-saving interventions according to protocols

Monitor patients and document changes in condition in the EMR

Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and care teams to deliver coordinated care

Respond to medical emergencies including trauma, cardiac arrest, and stroke

Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Adhere to infection control, safety standards, and hospital policies

Requirements:

Active and unrestricted RN license (state-specific)

Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience required

BLS (AHA) – required upon hire

ACLS (AHA) – required within 30 days of hire

PALS (AHA) – required within 30 days of hire for EDs treating pediatric patients

NIHSS certification required

BSN preferred

RN-C (Emergency Nursing) certification preferred within 2 years of hire
