**Job Title: Labor and Delivery RN Traveler**
**Job Location: Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, WV**
**Shift: Night (3x12-Hour: 19:00 - 07:00)**
**Description:**
We are seeking a dedicated Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a traveler. As part of our nursing staff, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to mothers and newborns in our facility. This position requires strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide exceptional care to patients during labor and delivery.
- Monitor and evaluate patients' conditions and respond accordingly.
- Assist with childbirth procedures, including but not limited to vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, and high-risk deliveries.
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy as needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Conduct nursing assessments and document patient information accurately.
- Educate parents and families about newborn care and breastfeeding practices.
- Maintain patient safety and adhere to infection control protocols.
**Qualifications:**
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery.
- Current RN licensure in West Virginia or a compact state.
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, FHM, AWHONN (Advanced, Intermediate, or Beginner).
- Proficient in Cerner charting system is preferred.
- Must be available for call shifts as needed based on census and should be willing to work every other weekend.
**Additional Requirements:**
- Flu Vaccine required during the October 2024 - March 2025 flu season. Declinations not accepted.
- Must clock in and out to receive payment.
- All travelers must be at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be accepted.
- Provide permanent home address and SS# when submitting application.
- Any missed shift must be compensated with a make-up shift within the same work week or pay period.
**Patient Care Details:**
- Comfortable working with a patient population that includes neonates, adolescents, infants, and adults.
- Daily census: 2-4 patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3.
