Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Interventional Radiology position at an acute care hospital in Decatur, IL, requiring an active IL RN license and at least 1 year of IR experience.

Works in the Interventional Radiology unit of a 372-bed acute care hospital
Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts (6:30–17:00)
Works every third weekend
On-call required: 1 night per week primary, 1 night per week secondary
Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required
1:1 patient ratio
Procedures include GI, genitourinary, pulmonary, neurological, and vascular interventional studies and interventions such as TIPS, embolization, angioplasty, stent placement, PICC placement, nephrostomy, thoracentesis, lung biopsy, vertebroplasty, and more
Scrub procedures are performed across multiple procedure categories
Medications administered include antihypertensives, emergency medications, procedural sedation agents, reversal agents, and thrombolytics
IV therapy including blood product administration, PICC line care, implanted port care, and IV infusion pump management
Charting via Cerner (experience required)
Solid-color scrubs required
Level II Trauma Center
Requirements
Active IL RN license in hand at time of consideration
Active BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI cards not accepted)
Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology RN experience required
Previous charge experience required
Cerner EMR experience required
Level II Trauma experience preferred
SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
Responsibilities include pre/post procedure care, monitoring procedural sedation, sheath removal and monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, vascular closure system use (Perclose, StarClose), end-tidal CO2 monitoring, and infection prevention/PPE
Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
RTO of up to 5 days (non-holiday) may be accommodated; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
Any former permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been away for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
Travel pairs are not accepted

RTO and scheduling requests should be submitted at the time of application
Parking is available at no cost with a permit obtained during orientation
Online modules must be completed prior to the start of the assignment; the first day is a virtual at-home day
