**Job Title: Medical ICU Registered Nurse (RN)**
**Shift:** 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
**Location:** 509 Biltmore Avenue, Building A, D Corridor, 3rd Floor
**Unit Information:**
- **Number of Beds:** 10
- **Patient Ratios:** 2:1 ICU, 4-5:1 PCU
- **Staffing:** Day Shift 1 Charge RN, 5 Staff RNs; Night Shift 1 Charge RN, 5 Staff RNs
- **Support Staff:** No unit secretaries or PCTs available
**Equipment:**
- Lift equipment
- Targeted Temperature Management (TTM)
- Ventilators
- IV pumps
**Documentation System:** Cerner
**Scheduling Requirements:**
- 12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend requirement
- Holiday support
**Floating Policy:** Yes, travelers may be required to float to different units.
**Patient Experience Requirements:** Bedside shift report is mandatory in all areas of the hospital; relief charge nurse will perform nurse leader rounding.
**Qualifications:**
- **Must Have:** Extensive medical ICU experience in a large facility, proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management.
- **Required Skills:** Critical thinking, flexibility, teamwork.
- **Advanced Skills:** Ventilator management, critical care pharmacology (IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors), advanced hemodynamic monitoring, central line management.
**Responsibilities:**
- Assist providers with bedside procedures such as chest tube insertion and intubations as needed.
**Certifications Required:**
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
**Dress Code:** Navy blue or white scrubs
