Job Description - Chronic Dialysis Technician (PCT)
- Assesses patient response to dialysis therapy.
- Makes appropriate adjustments and modifications to treatment plans as indicated/directed by supervisors or prescribed by the physician.
- Assessment of patient pre, interim, and post dialysis and documentation of findings.
- Administers medications as ordered to assigned patients.
- Assesses educational needs of patient and educating the patient and family regarding end stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet and medications.
- Flexibility to travel to the assignment location.
- Availability to work the facility's required schedule.
- Willingness to complete onboarding items in a timely manner.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new environments and strive for the highest quality of patient care.
- Also referred to as: renal care technician, dialysis technician, dialysis tech.
Job Requirements
- 1+ year of recent experience as a dialysis technician
- Graduate from an accredited nursing school
- Current state specific nursing license in good standing, or if applicable, a compact state RN license in good standing
- BLS certification required (Chronic and Acute settings)
- ACLS certification required (Acute setting only)
