**Job Description: Cardiac Care Nurse - 3x12-Hour Night Shift**

**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cardiac Care Nurse to join our team on a 3x12-hour night shift basis. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to patients with various cardiac conditions in a step-down unit. This role involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, administering medications, and performing specialized nursing procedures.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with cardiac conditions, including but not limited to atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, post-myocardial infarction recovery, and post-cardiac catheterization care.
- Monitor and manage cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias, including the interpretation and management of cardiac drips.
- Conduct procedures such as sheath removal and manage external CPAP/BIPAP, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management.
- Assist with post-operative care for patients undergoing various cardiac and thoracic surgeries including CABG, TAVR, and pacemaker placements.
- Maintain a patient-centered approach while adhering to established protocols and standards of care.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient care.
- Document patient care activities accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems, specifically Epic.

**Required Qualifications:**
- Minimum of 2 years of experience on a cardiac floor or relevant clinical experience.
- Valid BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Expertise in cardiac telemetry, management of dysrhythmias, and post-operative care.
- Ability to interpret EKG readings and manage cardiac drips (no titration).

**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Experience with arterial line management, charge nurse responsibilities, and wound care/wound vac.

**Work Schedule:**
- Night shifts, consisting of 36 hours per week.
- Flexibility to float to different units as necessary, based on patient care needs.

**Patient Care Environment:**
- Ratios may vary per acuity: 1:4 for surgical step-down, and 1:5-6 for lower acuity patients.
- Ongoing support from interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
