Sunflower Bank, N.A. is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual to fill the position of a full-time Third-Party Risk Program Manager in our Phoenix, AZ location.


Summary


The Third-Party Risk Program Manager is a Second Line of Defense role responsible for leading the Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) Program, which includes taking a lead role to define, implement, and maintain a risk framework, operating model, policies, procedures, governance, and oversight for all lines of business and subsidiaries. This position cultivates a strong working relationship with Third Party Relationship Owners to proactively identify and mitigate third party risks. The Third-Party Risk Program Manager provides oversight of the third-party risk lifecycle. This role is a people leadership role and provides an opportunity to strategically enhance the Third-Party Risk Management Program for a growing financial institution.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Lead the TPRM Program, providing support to the lines of business in the identification, management, and measurement of third-party risks across the enterprise.
  • Enhance the TPRM policies, standards, and procedures, including the TPRM Risk Assessment frameworks and rating scale.
  • Refine the TPRM risk-based review schedule to align with the enhanced risk assessment results.
  • Lead the TPRM team to ensure documentation and execution of questionnaires required by the company and provide clear guidance to the First Line of Defense.
  • Ensure the appropriate due diligence on prospective third parties is conducted.
  • Develop and deliver regular reporting to senior leadership, committees, and regulatory agencies (when applicable) including risk dashboards, emerging risk trends, and performance metrics.
  • Manage the TPRM Program documents, as well as Third-Party Risk Training and education initiatives to align with changing regulatory expectations and industry best practices for a $10 billion financial institution.
  • Manage the inventory of third-party providers to ensure completeness and accuracy of the inventory and required tasks are completed timely.


Education / Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
  • At least 6 years of experience working in third-party or vendor risk management.
  • Advanced knowledge of regulatory guidance for Third-Party Risk Management (interagency)
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are essential. Ability to forge and maintain relationships with Third Party Relationship owners.
  • Strong analytical skills to effectively challenge the First Line of Defense.
  • Strong process management orientation to create and maintain a standardized, repeatable process and to identify enhancements and efficiencies where available.
  • Management experience preferred.
